Pillsbury and C&H Sugar Combine for Sweet, Original Recipes

Pillsbury Bake-Off
The 43rd Pillsbury Bake–Off® Contest is underway and this year C&H Sugar is taking part in this American tradition to make it the sweetest Bake–Off® Contest yet.
Since 1949 Pillsbury has invited home cooks from coast to coast to share their original recipes in hopes of receiving acclaim, cash, and prizes. Last year, Karen Mack of Webster, New York, won $10,000 for her Blackberry–Almond Bruschetta recipe; the $1 million grand prize winner, Anna Ginsberg of Austin, Texas, won for her Baked Chicken and Spinach Stuffing recipe.
Each delicious Bake–Off® recipe submission is reviewed by a team of experts who ensure recipe originality and grade on taste, appearance, creativity, appeal and use of official ingredients such as C&H Sugar. As an official ingredient of the Bake–Off® Contest, C&H is expecting entries to be sweeter than ever. Choosing C&H Sugar, whether granulated, dark or golden brown, or powdered, will prove to yield consistent results, every time.
The best of the Bake–Off® submissions are prepared in the Pillsbury test kitchen to help narrow the pool to 100 lucky finalists. A year from now, each finalist will prepare his or her recipe for a panel of judges in Dallas, Texas, who will make the $1 million grand prize selection. Other prizes include: $5,000 cash, GE Profile™ appliances, and PreciseAir™ Convection Ovens.
The Grand Prize winners in the 2000 and 2004 Bake–Off® Contests have been sweet desserts, a Cream Cheese Brownie Pie and Oats ‘n Honey Granola Pie. Both recipes use Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust and add creative combinations for a quick, easy and original heart–warming dessert.
